My Approach
In the Room
When we’re in session, you’re in charge! I come from a client-centered and trauma-informed lens. Although I will make recommendations at times, my goal during our sessions is to empower you to make decisions in your life with clarity and confidence.
Together we will explore how the past impacts your current thoughts, feelings and actions. I will use varying techniques to assist with making changes you desire, such as psychodynamic, cognitive behavior therapy, existential, gestalt, acceptance/commitment therapy, parts work and somatic/mindfulness approaches. We will create goals together, address feelings, learn essential communication techniques and learn how to manage reactions to challenging situations. As we get to know each other, I might use humor to challenge your stuck patterns and maladaptive thoughts.
